So many have passed through this Gate
With a hope, they can rest their minds
Amazed by the beauty they find within
Which nature shares with us all the time

They lazily retreat beyond a stone wall
Where their eye’s view a garden unique
A place they can go to embrace loveliness
Falling into moments of dreamlike peace

They have heard tales of it being beautiful
But never had the chance to sneak a peek
They were caught up in the world’s rat race
Neglecting their spirits need for restful peace

They always thought their jobs more important
Then their spirits which they refuse to feed
And it really never occurred to their minds
The blissful meditation which their spirits need

But today after facing many frantic moments
Some realized they would no longer be deprived
A chance to quietly sit down smelling flowers
Whose fragrance will renew their souls inside

Finding their lives are more than the body they see
And the outer flesh they frantically seek to please
They begin to taste of their spiritual bankrupt state
Knowing to live, a restful peace they would now need

The path to the gate will not appeal to worldly hearts
Because of the weathered stone on the outside, many see
Yet once taking the chance to pass through its entrance
They’ll find their minds dancing in such perfect peace

So one day if by chance you feel your life is faltering
Finding you are tired of doing things the same way
Open your hearts to embrace this wonderful beginning
Where you’ll find a perfect peace which will always stay
Matthew 11:28-29
“…Come to me, all who labor and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest. Take my
yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I
am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will
find rest for your souls. For my yoke is
easy, and my burden is light.”
