I wear my shame as clothing
And my heart aches because
I have always disappointed you

My lips have always been free
With so many un-kept promises and
Words that were so very meaningless

And today, right now I am afraid to open
Up my mouth for what may fall out and
What I may speak

And yet I do, but why say it when I don’t keep
Your commandments

I do not want to say how much I
Really love you, and not do your will

So Lord, My God, my savior all I can
Say at this time Is forgive me while I pray
Upon bending knees.
