My soul is a tormented
one who lacks strength
and integrity, one whose
heart is full of sin.

I am lost Lord in its
wide-ranging web, as it
strangles me, as it binds
me, as it suffocates all
that was good within.

It causes me to bathe
in its evilness, and is
a hot iron to my mind
wounding my conscience,
spearing my heart.

Lord rescue me for the
sin is not of my spirit,
but of my flesh that now
imprisons me

The fault is one that can
only be corrected by your
blood and grace, and also
by believing in Your holy

Touch the cancerous sore
Oh Lord, cutting it out,
healing me, making me
whole again that I may live
in your wholesome light, as
you will also live in my
life forever.
A prayer for salvation I wrote to God in
September 1976.

I share this poem because I see many
suffering and struggling in their chase
after what the world has to offer, yet
still going in circles, day after day,
month after month, year after year
never changing because they always attempt
to do it on their own. My path was similar
in 1976. Many of us have suffered the same
needless agony and many still do. They
find themselves powerless. Yet there is only
One who can save, who will turn their lives
around. I pray one might embrace His message
and turn to He who is life and love and a
friend and brother, One who will be everything
to those who ask for lasting change…salvation
He is a stumbling block for many, but the truest
treasure for all who believe in his most holy
name. He is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Joshua 24:15
But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you,
then choose for yourselves this day whom you will
serve, whether the gods your ancestors served
beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land you are living. But as for me and my
household, we will serve the Lord.”

Jeremiah 17:14
Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;
save me and I will be saved, for you
are the one I praise.
“Have a very blessed Weekend.”
