Where is the love that once burned bright
Which once kindled such a loving desire
Why have you turned your face away from Me
How did the love in your heart now retire

What in this sinful world have I ever done
That would now make you totally turn away
With all the love which I gave to you daily
Why by my side would your heart not stay

What made you turn and run to worldly gods
Yes to those lifeless ones who cannot save
Why now do you daily worship worldly images
Allowing your heart to turn to stone today

My child, I once made a living promise to you
Hear it again this day knowing it remains true
That as long as you have breath in your lungs
I will surely never give up on loving you

Humble self repenting of all the things you done
Returning to me with a contrite heart this day
Believe in the promise of your true forgiving God
As I wipe you clean of your many sins today

And I will never turn My face away in disdain
Despite the unseemly things which you have done
Know I the Lord will never change like humans
Realize the gift of true salvation you have won

I called you by your name before you were born
Choosing you from among your sisters and brothers
Know even while you had fallen far away from Me
Within your heart, there will never be another…

“Living God Who Will Forgive Your Sins.”

John, 6:39-40
Now this is the will of the one who sent me – that
I should not lose one person of every one he has
given me, but raise them all up at the last day.
For this is the will of my Father – for everyone
who looks on the Son and believes in him to have
eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last
day.” My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them,
and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and
they will never perish; no one will snatch them from
my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is
greater than all, and no one can snatch them from
my Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”

Luke 23: 39-43

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at
him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear
God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence?
We are punished justly, for we are getting what our
deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into
your kingdom.[d]” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell
you, today you will be with me in paradise.

Numbers 23:19
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human
being, that he should change his mind. Does he
speak and then not act? Does he promise and not

My poem was inspired by one who said
they lost their way and as their
faith faded,they turned from God
seeking a different way, trying to
Hide their sin, but soon realized
His mistake, he was afraid to return
asking forgiveness, thinking it would
now be impossible. Our God provides an
open door to return with a repentant
heart, because of His promise, His grace
and love. He does not change his mind
like humans.
