I once was questioned by a man
Why every time I did lift my pen
I always seemed to write of love
Whenever a new poem I would begin

Love, love, love, he shook his head
A better writer in life you might be
If you could write about another subject
Without letting love to inwardly creep

But I hesitated before I answered
Pondering why it was always this way
Why I would daily write about love
Every day which God’s hand had made

My faith I replied is the reason why
I hold on to and write of love so dear
And by hope, I know that when I do
His spirit will remain so very near

But most of all by writing of love
I will always surely resemble Him
And I will lead such a joyful life
In His spirits love which never ends.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient,
bearing with one another in love.

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and
love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 John 4:7
7 Dear friends, let us love one another,
for love comes from God. Everyone who
loves has been born of God and knows God.
